ADRC collaborates with Marlokia Rescue in Calverton, NY to provide a unique and inspiring Equine Therapy Program for people with Alzheimer’s disease on Long Island.  Participants spend time “in the moment” with the horses, in a beautiful, natural setting in Calverton.  They are guided through gentle interactions, such as petting and grooming.  These activities promote connection to the accepting, friendly equine spirits.  Horses are highly intuitive creatures, receptive to both verbal and non-verbal communication. Reservations for all participants are required one week prior to the session date.
